FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of back pain is this program for? How do I know it’s right for me?
This program is full of information that will benefit anyone with a back problem. The stretches and exercises are safe for anyone regardless of their diagnosis. Back pain reacts to two things, too much motion in some joints and too little motion in others. The stretching portion of the program helps address areas of too little motion and the core strengthening helps address areas where there is too much motion or not enough stability.

Will this program work if I am seeing a chiropractor?
Yes. Chiropractic care primarily addresses the immediate symptoms of back pain, the stiffness and pain that comes with immobility in the back. This program works very well to compliment chiropractic care in that it not only helps relieve pain and stiffness but it addresses the underlying problems that can cause back pain to return and persist.

How long will it take to get results?
Results can sometimes be seen in as little as one round of stretches and exercises. However back pain can take up to 3-4 weeks to fully resolve. The treatment plans given in this book are meant to be performed over a period of 3-5 weeks. The lasting benefits of the program can help keep your back pain free for the rest of your life.

What kind of equipment is needed for this program?
The beauty of this program is that you need no equipment at all. All of the stretches and exercises are designed to be done at home, on the road or even at work in a break room or office. Strategies for obtaining a pain free back are really quite simple.

How do I get the videos?
The video clips that accompany the book are accessed through the internet. If you are connected to the internet when you are viewing the book on your computer you can click on the “Click for video” button beneath any of the exercises. Your browser will open and the video will play automatically. When the video is finished playing just close the browser and you can continue reading. Click here for demo.

Is heat or cold better for my back?
With the back there are no hard and fast rules about using heat or ice. The tissues that are generally injured in the low back are too deep in the body to be directly affected by heat or ice. However the muscles in the back, legs and hips that react to injured discs and ligaments can be directly affected by heat and ice. So the rule is, whichever one, heat or ice actually improves your symptoms, that is the one you should use. When using ice do not use it for more than 20 minutes at a time.
